Tokyo Black Metal at Bushbash
We are playing Koiwa Extreme Vol.10 because nights like this are still how Tokyo’s underground stays alive. December 6 marks the tenth iteration of the series, and reaching that number only happens when people keep showing up and doing the work consistently.
This one lands at Bushbash in Koiwa, with a lineup that hits hard from multiple directions. We are proud to be part of it.
The People Putting This Together
This night is happening because Obliteration Records continues to put real effort into Tokyo’s extreme music ecosystem. Koiwa Extreme did not appear fully formed. It has been built step by step, show by show, and this tenth edition reflects that persistence.
We respect promoters who think long-term. Not just who can draw, but who can curate, who understand which bands belong together, and who are willing to keep investing in nights that prioritize substance over surface. Obliteration Records has been doing exactly that, and we are glad to support it by being on this bill.
This Lineup Rips
There is no dead weight here.
Zxui Moskvha
Zxui Moskvha headline the night, and they bring a sharp, abrasive form of black metal that feels deliberate and physical. Their live presence locks the room into a very specific headspace, and it sets the tone properly.
Worship Pain
When Worship Pain hit the stage, we are bringing heat. No easing into it. No mood-setting bullshit. We’ve been practicing for this one, and we’re gonna come in loud and tight, and nights like this pull the worst and best out of us at the same time.
SSORC
SSORC add a different kind of gravity. Their sound carries years of refinement and refusal, and playing alongside bands who have put in that time always recalibrates perspective.
Bafomet
Bafomet keep the night volatile. Fast, aggressive, and direct, they bring momentum that prevents the room from settling. That energy bleeds into everything that follows.
Exitium of Nemesis
Opening the night, Exitium of Nemesis step in with focus and intent. No excess. No hesitation. Starting a bill like this takes confidence, and they are meeting it head-on.
This is a lineup that hits from multiple angles and never lets up.
Playing Bushbash Again
Bushbash is one of those spaces that understands how shows actually function. The venue side and the café side coexist naturally, which means people can settle in, get food, grab a solid craft beer, and stay present for the entire night.
It is a room that encourages attention rather than distraction. The sound translates well, bands can control their dynamics, and the atmosphere stays grounded. Bushbash does not feel sterile or chaotic. It feels lived-in, which makes it ideal for nights like Koiwa Extreme.
We always enjoy playing here because the space supports the music without overpowering it.
Koiwa at Night
Koiwa has its own rhythm. Trains overhead, narrow streets, steady movement even late in the evening. You do not arrive detached from the day. You arrive carrying it with you.
That context matters. Extreme music works best when it exists inside real environments rather than sealed off from them. Walking into Bushbash from the street, you feel that shift immediately. The night tightens. Everything folds inward.
It helps that the area is actually lived in by people from the scene. Our friends in death metal band Neuroticos run Neuro Bar just nearby, which says a lot about why Koiwa works. Bands live here. They drink here. They build things here. The music does not drop in from outside.
Koiwa Extreme fits this area naturally, and ten iterations in, it feels properly rooted.
